About the position

Keystone Engineering Inc. is seeking a Sr. Consulting Civil Engineer to join our team in Metairie, Louisiana. This full-time position is integral to our commitment to providing innovative engineering solutions and maintaining strong client relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing advanced engineering calculations and analyses, interfacing with various technical disciplines, and ensuring that all project specifications meet the required performance standards. As a Sr. Consulting Civil Engineer, you will serve as the Lead Discipline Engineer on larger projects, guiding less experienced engineers and ensuring that all project information is accurately compiled and maintained. Your responsibilities will include preparing detailed specifications that outline performance requirements, design data, and applicable codes and standards. You will also be expected to participate in site visits to assess project progress and collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure project success. Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced engineering calculations, analyses, and other tasks using prescribed methods and procedures.
  • Interface with other technical disciplines, vendors, and contractors.
  • Interface with Drafting to provide any required information and review Drafting's work.
  • Prepare specifications detailing performance requirements, design data, applicable codes/standards, and vendor drawing requirements.
  • Assist in assembling all project information into the project files.
  • Participate in site visits.
  • Serve as Lead Discipline Engineer on larger projects.
  • Assist with mentoring less experienced engineers.
  • Build strong client relationships that generate repeat business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent with a Structural focus from an ABET accredited institution.
  • 15+ years of Civil/Structural design experience.
  • P.E. License.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, creative, organized, and solution advocate.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in the use of SACS and/or RISA analysis software packages.
