About the position

As a Senior Content Designer at PayPal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping content strategy and ensuring editorial quality across various product delivery teams. This leadership position involves collaborating with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Researchers to create user experiences that empower consumers and businesses globally. You will influence company-wide content strategies, oversee large-scale content initiatives, and advocate for best practices in content design, all while ensuring consistency and quality across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Create content strategies and systems for efficiency and consistency.
  • Oversee large-scale content initiatives and set long-term content goals.
  • Provide thought leadership and advocate for best practices in content design.
  • Inspire the team to develop customer-focused content and communication strategies.
  • Define the vision for content design and engage with stakeholders for strategic planning.
  • Drive the definition of a clear and actionable strategic direction for content.
  • Ensure content implementation aligns with strategy and PayPal standards.
  • Use data and customer feedback to measure content effectiveness and adapt as needed.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Marketing, and Operations teams for a consistent experience.
  • Evaluate content impact using data and research for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain best practices in grammar, messaging, terminology, writing, and style.
  • Demonstrate how content fosters meaningful customer relationships.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience writing for multiple channels and platforms.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-impact content solutions and strategic insights.
  • Experience operating at a strategic level in content design practices.
  • Some experience managing or mentoring writers.
  • Strong understanding of customer journeys through research and data analysis.
  • Expertise in design thinking for creating great products.
  • History of positioning content as an engagement tool.
  • Experience in overcoming organizational obstacles and building partnerships.
  • Strong influencing skills and comfort in leadership roles.
  • Preferred experience in financial services, payments, B2B or B2C e-commerce.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant fields.
