About the position

As a Senior Copywriter in the Premium Content team within the Brand Innovation Lab at Amazon Advertising, you will be at the forefront of creating innovative and unique campaigns for a diverse array of global brands. Your role will involve crafting clear and compelling narratives that resonate with our advertisers and their audiences. You will collaborate closely with art directors, designers, solutions managers, strategists, producers, and sales partners to push the creative boundaries by utilizing various Amazon platforms such as Alexa, Twitch, and Prime Video. This position is not just about writing; it’s about leading projects and nurturing client relationships to ensure that the work produced not only meets but exceeds expectations, ultimately benefiting the end customer. In this dynamic role, you will leverage data and insights to inform campaign strategies and concepts, write engaging copy, and develop scripts and templates for groundbreaking brand experiences that address customer needs both on and off Amazon platforms. Your strong conceptual thinking, presentation skills, storytelling ability, and project management expertise will be crucial in delivering high-quality work. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will be responsible for ensuring that every piece of content aligns with the brand's objectives and resonates with the target audience. The ideal candidate will have a portfolio showcasing innovative, insight-driven campaigns that effectively solve advertiser challenges across various media channels, including video, social media, digital platforms, radio, and outdoor advertising. Given the client-facing nature of this role, excellent presentation skills are essential for articulating ideas and concepts in a succinct and compelling manner.

Responsibilities

  • Concept, write and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands
  • Partner with art directors, designers, program managers, developers, strategists, and producers to create customer-focused solutions that deliver on advertiser objectives
  • Independently lead campaigns and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external agency partners
  • Demonstrate exceptional writing skills to create campaign content that attracts, retains, and grows an audience
  • Utilize experience in audio-only media
  • Be data-driven and obsessed with understanding customers to create work that delivers results
  • Present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internally
  • Proven ability to ideate for film, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential, and social media
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Mentor and inspire younger designers and creatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience at advertising agencies and/or in-house creative departments
  • Must have an online portfolio URL in your resume demonstrating big thinking that can extend into any medium
  • Strong understanding of digital and social platforms and their use within marketing
  • Exceptional writing skills that demonstrate the ability to create campaign content that attracts, retains, and grows an audience

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote
  • Experience developing cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research, and marketing teams to develop strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative executions
  • Experience leading creative development from concept to delivery
  • Experience managing creative teams including internal designers, copywriters, and external agencies and freelancers
  • Experience presenting creative concepts effectively to senior executives
