About the position

The Senior Copywriter at Orchard Brands is responsible for creating and implementing engaging and brand-aligned copy for various media channels. This role involves managing other copywriters, ensuring that their work aligns with brand needs, and adapting the brand voice based on different audiences and channels. The Senior Copywriter will leverage consumer insights and seasonal trends to drive brand awareness and sales while maintaining a fun and inspiring communication style.

Responsibilities

  • Determine compelling product benefits in partnership with creative, merchant, and design teams.
  • Construct intriguing subject lines and post copy messages for email and social campaigns.
  • Capture the essence of each new product in words.
  • Develop engaging cover messaging, editorials, headlines, and product names for various media.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of copy through proofreading and cross-checking details.
  • Maintain accurate information in the copy database.
  • Participate in relevant meetings including Topline, Turnover, Creative, and Copy reviews.
  • Gather and interpret product information, data, and market research from various sources.
  • Manage and oversee the expression of brand voice across all customer-facing touchpoints.
  • Develop and refine the brand voice and understand the customer profile.
  • Monitor customer-written product reviews to enhance product presentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to share information across all brands.
  • Collaborate with creative and merchant teams to develop promotions and educational pieces.
  • Formulate concepts and presentation approaches using product success knowledge.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of business goals and objectives.
  • Support corporate strategy and initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects while adhering to production schedules.
  • Take responsibility for project management functions and weekly process updates.
  • Manage copywriters and build a highly functioning team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related major.
  • 7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical experience with InDesign, Microsoft Office, and MAC operating systems.
  • Experience with Photoshop, FileMaker Pro, and Asset Management Software (e.g., Marketers Studio).
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information to large, varied groups.
  • Ability to engage and communicate professionally with cross-functional teams and Senior Leadership.
