About the position

The Senior Cost Accountant/Costing Manager will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial data, focusing on detailed cost analysis of manufacturing processes. This role is crucial for determining the financial success of the organization, especially during a period of significant growth. The position involves collaboration with project managers and senior management to implement cost standards and improve financial reporting related to inventory and cost of sales.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and analyze product costings, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Develop and continuously improve procedures for the control and valuation of inventory.
• Assist project managers with budgeting and spending.
• Implement cost standards for materials and labor.
• Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports, communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Participate in the preparation and review of financial statements, particularly in relation to inventory and cost of sales.
• Assist in strategic projects related to cost reduction and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; a CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of GAAP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Expertise in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
