About the position

The Sr. CPSO/AFSO (Program Security Officer, Senior) at Redwire Space is responsible for overseeing all aspects of security management for collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Department of Defense (DoD) Special Access Programs (SAP). This role involves ensuring compliance with security regulations, managing personnel security records, and serving as a communication link between various entities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in security management and a strong understanding of national security policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure personnel processed for access meet prerequisite for personnel security clearance and/or investigative requirements.
  • Manage personnel security records for DoD collateral clearances, SCI and SAP programs, including updating the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Review, track, and monitor security clearance processing activities with appropriate government personnel.
  • Send Visit Authorization Requests (VAR) for SCI/Program personnel visiting external locations.
  • Conduct indoctrinations and debriefs of classified program personnel and process mandatory self-reporting from program personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD regulations and all contractual requirements related to security procedures.
  • Provide policy interpretation and guidance for the security program for all personnel involved with SCI and SAPs.
  • Serve as the communication link between internal and external entities/organizations.
  • Maintain physical holdings and document control number (DCN) repositories, including issuance of DCNs.
  • Review and file foreign travel and other required reporting incidences.
  • Perform SAP specific personnel security actions, such as Pre-Screening Questionnaire (PSQ) updates and Program Access Requests (PARs).
  • Manage physical security and access control of secure sites; manage requirements for maintaining FCL and SCIF/SAPF accreditations.
  • Conduct initial, recurring and refresher Security Education Training.
  • Prepare DD254s and review DD254s for prime and sub-contractors.
  • Identify the security needs of the customer and organization within business proposals.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen with a current/active Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to obtain/maintain SCI/SAP access(es).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with a minimum of five or more years of Industrial Security experience as a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) and Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO).
  • Excellent organizational skills and adaptability within a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of national security policies, including NISPOM, Executive Orders, and Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
  • Experience with DOD, SCI and SAP personnel security procedures and requirements.
  • Must have a demonstrated understanding of DOD and IC security procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • Must have Security Program Officer (SPO) training certification or be able to obtain it within 30 days of starting.
  • Must have OPSEC Level I certification or be able to obtain it within 30 days of starting.
  • Must have FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities certification or be able to obtain it within 60 days of starting.
  • Must have Insider Threat Program Senior Official certification or be able to obtain it within 90 days of starting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiar with the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and National Industrial Security System (NISS).
  • Experience writing, revising, and interpreting DD254s.
