About the position

As a Senior Creative Director in the Brand Innovation Lab team at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in leading innovative campaigns for a diverse array of global brands, guiding projects from the initial creative brief all the way to launch. Reporting directly to the head of the FIRST pod, you will collaborate closely with solutions managers to expand the Financial Services and Hospitality sectors. Your leadership will extend to managing a team of creative professionals, including creative directors, art directors, copywriters, and designers, ensuring that your team produces exceptional work that resonates with customers and meets advertiser objectives. In this dynamic role, you will leverage Amazon's extensive suite of tools and services to craft high-level creative strategies that address the business needs of brands across various advertising verticals, including Travel, Financial Services, Restaurant/QSR, and Retail. You will be responsible for synthesizing insights from Amazon and third-party data to inform your creative direction, ensuring that campaigns are not only innovative but also aligned with customer expectations for seamless experiences. Your ability to think strategically across multiple Amazon platforms will be crucial as you manage complex projects and create tailored content that drives marketing objectives. Your responsibilities will also include fostering a collaborative team culture that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and inspiration. You will mentor your direct reports, helping them develop their skills and advance their careers while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality creative outputs. By effectively communicating with key stakeholders and external partners, you will ensure that all creative initiatives are executed to the highest standards, ultimately enhancing the brand's presence and effectiveness in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Define the creative strategy for multiple advertisers
  • Concept, design, and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands
  • Independently direct campaigns and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external agency partners
  • Partner with and/or lead creative/art directors, copywriters, designers, solutions managers, and content producers
  • Develop and manage the careers/growth of direct reports, providing feedback and coaching opportunities
  • Direct creative disciplines outside your area of functional expertise
  • Deliver high-quality copy, content and assets for campaigns across Amazon touch-points
  • Provide in-depth understanding of copywriting for all formats
  • Synthesize strategic research and/or data to develop campaign ideas
  • Lead the creation of presentations; present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internally
  • Make creative trade-off decisions between teams, clients, and end-customer needs
  • Measure and evaluate current processes within the department and continuously improve them
  • Mentor and inspire other creatives

Requirements

  • Portfolio submission required
  • Demonstrated account/campaign planning, creative direction, visual design skills, and interactive/digital advertising experiences
  • Proven ability to ideate for film, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential and social
  • Experience as a Creative Director at either agency or advertiser, with a copywriter or art director background
  • Minimum of 4 years experience managing creatives, including creative directors, art directors, copywriters, and/or interactive designers
  • Experience working with Travel, Financial Services, Insurance, Restaurant, and/or Retail brands
  • Passion for experimentation and innovation
  • Relentlessly high creative standards and exceptional attention to detail
  • Data-driven and focused on measurable impact of campaigns
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deliver results despite competing priorities
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to defend creative decisions to leadership
