About the position

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for leading incident response investigations, evaluating security technologies, and driving improvements in the Cybersecurity Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) program at UNFI. This role involves identifying and resolving cybersecurity issues, collaborating with various teams, mentoring junior staff, and communicating technical details to partners and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform incident response for various security alerts across hardware, software, networks, and cloud services.
• Evaluate technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and Threat Intelligence.
• Assess threats to UNFI and create detection/prevention content using SIEM and EDR capabilities.
• Design and develop SOAR application runbooks and incident templates.
• Conduct forensic investigations in support of Cybersecurity, HR, and Legal needs.
• Complete analysis of threat actors and prepare risk profiles and threat assessments.
• Participate in system and network security audits to identify vulnerabilities.
• Compile and analyze data for management reporting and metrics.
• Conduct root cause analysis and communicate outcomes clearly.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer or Cybersecurity domain.
• At least 1 industry-leading or senior-level cybersecurity certification (e.g., GCIH, GCFE, GCTD, GCPN, E-CND, E-CIH).
• 6-10 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in IT environments.
• 3+ years of experience in network, server, or systems administration including scripting/coding.
• 2+ years of experience in Cloud technologies (DevOps, architecture, defense, IR, or forensics).
• 2+ years of experience in application development in a large, diverse environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Scripting experience in Python or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of malware testing and reverse engineering.
• Experience with penetration testing tools and techniques.
