About the position

As a Senior Data Analyst at LexisNexis Legal & Professional, you will take ownership of data and analytics reporting, playing a crucial role in enhancing our understanding of customer search behavior and improving our data management processes. You will be responsible for performing data management and analysis tasks within specific functional areas, providing valuable insights that inform project plans and objectives. Your role will involve communicating with both internal and external stakeholders regarding a wide range of data-related topics, ensuring that our data practices align with business goals and customer needs. In this position, you will analyze customer search behavior and generate reports that highlight areas for improvement. You will run data profiles and conduct complex data statistics to support business and data engineering teams with your subject matter expertise. Mentoring less experienced data engineers will also be part of your responsibilities, as you share methodologies and optimization techniques that enhance team performance. You will design, complete, and present new data evaluations to diverse audiences, ensuring that your findings are accessible and actionable. Additionally, you will create comprehensive data documentation, including mappings and quality thresholds, and conduct routine data reviews to verify accuracy. Your attention to detail will be critical in ensuring that corrections and clarifications are made promptly, maintaining the integrity of our data management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding customer search behavior and providing analysis reports to indicate improvement areas.
  • Running data profiles and complex data statistics.
  • Supporting Business or other Data Engineering teams with data subject matter expertise.
  • Mentoring less senior Data Engineers on methodologies and optimization techniques.
  • Designing, completing, and presenting new data evaluations to diverse audiences.
  • Creating data documentation including mappings and quality thresholds.
  • Conducting routine data review and verification and ensuring corrections and clarifications are made in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Have a BS degree in Math or equivalent experience.
  • Display good problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and research skills with great attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent experience in Data Management areas, with analytical competencies demonstrated.
  • Display solid proficiency with development languages such as SQL, Python, Tableau, etc.
  • Show excellent proficiency with various data types and formats, including XML.
  • Have exceptional proficiency with data analysis tools and processes.
  • Demonstrate excellent proofreading skills showing how data and facts are linked together to create more meaningful conclusions.
  • Have a tenacious ability and desire to learn new processes, tools, and technologies.
