About the position

The Sr. Data Analyst position is a critical role focused on analyzing data to inform policy decisions within government or public service sectors. The role requires extensive experience in data management, statistical analysis, and the ability to present findings effectively to senior management and external partners. The analyst will work both independently and collaboratively to create datasets, conduct analyses, and develop interactive visualizations that support policy-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to inform policy in government or public service.
• Construct datasets for specific analyses and clean, aggregate, and match large data sets.
• Utilize data analysis programs such as SQL, SAS, R, and Python.
• Create and present interactive visualizations and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Develop analytic plans and conduct statistical analyses.
• Interface effectively with senior Authority management and external partners through excellent communication skills.
• Manage multiple assignments under stringent deadlines while handling sensitive information.

Requirements

• Master's degree in public policy, urban planning, sociology, demography, political science, economics, data science, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in data analysis, particularly in government or public service contexts.
• Strong data management skills, including dataset construction and data cleaning.
• Proficiency in data analysis programs (SQL, SAS, R, Python).
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and presentation.
• Experience with mapping tools and extensions (e.g., Advance Editing, Geocoding, Georeferencing, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst).
• Experience in building and presenting interactive visualizations and dashboards.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite for data visualization.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and tools.
