About the position

Join our remote team as a Sr. Data Architect in support of a Chief Data Officer (CDO) office where you can work with our federal clients on enterprise data management and zero trust initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing data-centric applications and data flows to categorize and classify data, preparing for the migration of data into a data lake and metadata into a data catalog. Your expertise will be crucial in establishing the CDO Zero Trust Data Pillar, ensuring that data governance practices are effectively promoted and adopted across the organization. As a Sr. Data Architect, you will categorize and classify data to support the establishment of the CDO Zero Trust Data Pillar. You will analyze applications and data flows for enterprise systems, recommending new features and improvements to enhance awareness of enterprise data standards, dissemination, end-user comprehension, and collaboration. Your role will also involve documenting detailed data mappings and providing prescriptive guidance to help end users understand enterprise data assets and their relationship dependencies. You will present abstractions of complex data architectures to mixed audiences, facilitating the promotion and adoption of new data governance practices. Additionally, you will document data health metrics, data definitions, and standard operating procedures for data governance, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned with the organization's data management goals.

Responsibilities

  • Categorize and classify data in support of establishing the CDO Zero Trust Data Pillar
  • Analyze applications and data flows for enterprise systems
  • Recommend new features and improvements to enhance enterprise data standards awareness, dissemination, end user comprehension, and collaboration
  • Document detailed data mappings and prescriptive guidance to help end users understand enterprise data assets and their relationship dependencies
  • Present abstractions of complex data architectures to mixed audiences to help promote and adopt new data governance practices
  • Document data health metrics, data definitions, and data governance standard operating procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience working in data architecture, data engineering, data analysis, or data migration
  • Experience in data migration methodologies and best practices on hybrid platforms
  • Experience analyzing applications and data flows
  • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and project teams to identify, define, collate, document, and communicate data migration requirements
  • Experience working on an Agile team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field is required
  • US Citizenship required
  • Active Public Trust or ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with a cloud computing platform such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with Zero Trust Data Pillar
