About the position

As a Senior Data Architect at Softchoice, you will play a crucial role in helping organizations leverage data and analytics to solve complex challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to design end-to-end data and analytics solutions that align with client business requirements, ensuring data security and governance throughout the process. You will work collaboratively with project managers and stakeholders to deliver value and drive digital transformation initiatives across various industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end design of data and analytics solutions by translating client business requirements into technical specifications.
• Define the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, and security for client projects.
• Provide technical oversight to solution delivery, ensuring adherence to the client's architecture and data governance standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, client stakeholders, Solution and Journey Architects to drive projects to completion.
• Advocate for data security principles and ensure appropriate security practices are embedded in data/analytics strategies.
• Deliver value by solving customer’s complex data or analytics problems.
• Build Softchoice internal capabilities and best practices around data to enhance multi-cloud business.
• Stay updated on current data and analytics trends within the market and contribute to practice development.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of extensive architecture and design experience with secure, complex applications across various data sources and multi-cloud platforms.
• Highly proficient in distributed computing and data principles, familiar with key architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and DMBok.
• At least 10 years of experience designing solutions leveraging diverse data sources, formats, and architectural patterns including batch, streaming, and transactional.
• Solid knowledge of common database technologies; structured, unstructured, and OSS.
• Understanding of data governance, data dictionaries, data security, and Master Data Management.
• Deep understanding of when to use complex data and analytics services to solve enterprise data challenges.
• At least 10 years of experience accelerating a customer’s digital transformation incorporating advanced analytics, BI tools, AI, Machine Learning, and Big Data.
• Experience architecting analytics platforms with Databricks and/or Fabric preferred.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of scripting languages and automation.
• Excellent presentation and verbal skills, comfortable in front of a whiteboard driving architectural and decision-making sessions.
• Problem-solving and consultative mindset.
• Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts, and ensuring follow-through.
• Comfortable dealing with the unknown and able to work with clients to define business outcomes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
