The Senior Data Architect at NiSource plays a pivotal role in shaping the data strategy for the enterprise data lake house. This position is fully remote and is designed for a full-time permanent role, offering a competitive salary range of $91,000 to $136,600, along with an annual bonus. The Senior Data Architect is responsible for creating high-quality data models and structures that support various downstream analytics, reporting, and application requirements. This role requires collaboration with business, IT, and analytics teams to understand data needs and design optimized structures that reduce redundancy, streamline data flow, and enhance overall enterprise data management. By leveraging best practices, the Senior Data Architect is expected to create timely, reliable, and scalable data products, tackling complex problems with a broad perspective as a recognized subject matter expert. Key responsibilities include assembling large and complex data sets that align with business requirements, analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models, and designing and implementing effective database solutions for storing and retrieving company data. The Senior Data Architect will also collaborate with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows, implement data strategies, and develop physical data models. Leading data modeling strategies for complex projects from start to finish, updating and optimizing local and metadata models, and identifying database structural necessities by evaluating business operations, applications, and programming are also critical aspects of this role.
