About the position

The Senior Data Architect plays a crucial role in the Enterprise Data Strategy department, which is responsible for the data strategy of the enterprise data lake house. This position is essential for creating high-quality data models and structures that support downstream analytics, reporting, and application requirements. The Senior Data Architect collaborates closely with business, IT, and analytics colleagues to understand data needs and design optimized structures that reduce redundancy, streamline data flow, and enhance enterprise data management. By leveraging best practices, the Senior Data Architect is tasked with creating timely, reliable, and scalable data products that meet the evolving needs of the organization. In this role, the Senior Data Architect will assemble large, complex data sets that align with business requirements and analyze and translate these needs into long-term solution data models. Responsibilities include designing and implementing effective database solutions and models for storing and retrieving company data, collaborating with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows, and leading data modeling strategy for complex projects from start to finish. The architect will also be responsible for updating and optimizing local and metadata models, as well as identifying database structural necessities by evaluating business operations, applications, and programming. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in designing and implementing database solutions, physical and relational data modeling, and data warehousing and data lake architecture. The Senior Data Architect is expected to tackle complex problems with a broad perspective and act as a recognized subject matter expert in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble large, complex data sets that align with business requirements.
  • Analyze and translate business needs into long-term solution data models.
  • Design & implement effective database solutions and models for storing and retrieving company data.
  • Collaborate with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows.
  • Implement data strategies and develop physical data models.
  • Lead data modeling strategy for complex projects from start to finish.
  • Update and optimize local and metadata models.
  • Identify database structural necessities by evaluating business operations, applications, and programming.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing database solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience in physical and relational data modeling.
  • 2+ years of experience in data warehousing and data lake architecture.
