About the position

The Senior Business Data Architect plays a pivotal role in the Data & Analytics Strategy and Innovation function, focusing on the development and implementation of comprehensive data strategies that support the organization's business operations and decision-making processes. This position is responsible for creating efficient and scalable data architectures that align with business strategies and operational needs, while also leading diverse teams to solve complex issues and drive growth across the Enterprise Data & Analytics function.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of the organization's business data architecture.
• Direct collaborations with data management and technology teams to implement impactful data strategies and solutions.
• Oversee and establish data-related standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Head the selection and implementation of optimal database designs and data warehousing strategies.
• Spearhead innovation initiatives, overseeing the execution of POCs and pilots for new technologies.
• Collaborate with the Business Data Architect Lead and stakeholders to ensure alignment with the data and analytics strategy.
• Stay updated on advancements in data architecture and integrate relevant innovations into the organization's strategy.
• Ensure alignment between Enterprise Architecture and other functions to uphold enterprise strategy.
• Participate in vendor and solution selection processes, contributing to RFP evaluations and technology assessments.
• Assist in program cost and timeline estimation, supporting the development of a technology roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• At least 12 years of experience in data architecture, with 5 years in a leadership position.
• Experience in large financial services organizations with strong domain knowledge of Financial and Insurance sectors.
• Experience with cloud transformation and various cloud migration strategies.
• Solid background in Business Intelligence & Analytics, providing architectural direction for solutions.
• Strong experience in data lifecycle management, governance, and security.
• In-depth knowledge of data modeling and structured/unstructured data formats.
• Experience architecting data lakes, data warehouses, and operational data stores.
• Experience in infrastructure management and cloud platform integration.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Experience in data storage and big data processing tools.
• Proficiency in ETL/ELT and data integration tools.
• Experience with data visualization tools and database systems.
• Familiarity with trends in data architecture and analytics.
• Experience architecting solutions for AI/ML and advanced analytics.
• Experience with Digital products and architecture frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solution Architect or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
• Ability to perform hands-on proof-of-concept activities.
• Proficient in Agile-based development methodologies.
