About the position

The Sr. Data Architect at IRIS Consulting Corporation is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the enterprise data management platform to support Business Intelligence (BI) and analytical needs across various functions of the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). This role involves assessing current data inventories, establishing data governance best practices, and advising on data stewardship processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement short-term and long-term data strategy roadmap reflecting GTRI strategic initiatives.
  • Create, maintain, and evolve data architecture blueprints and reference architecture for current, transitional, and future state.
  • Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts for an Enterprise Data Model and Architecture.
  • Contribute to the experimentation and recommendation of industry tools and technologies for enterprise-level data problems.
  • Collaborate with the ESD ETL, Datawarehouse, and Reporting team to gather and store data from various sources and implement data quality measures.
  • Establish standards and policies for classifying, securing, and protecting enterprise information assets.
  • Manage information security, including sensitivity analysis, access control systems, and data protection techniques.
  • Optimize Oracle database systems for performance with ESD Database Administrators (DBAs).
  • Facilitate integration of Data visualization tools like Tableau and Cognos with various data sources.

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience architecting on-prem and cloud-based enterprise data solutions.
  • Solid expertise in architecting and delivering end-to-end data solutions within an enterprise.
  • Expertise in designing, building, and managing Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms.
  • Knowledge of data process modeling for enterprise and business function-specific data architecture.
  • Knowledge of data governance framework and Enterprise Data Management (EDM) framework.
  • Knowledge of Data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and Cognos Analytics.
  • Knowledge of technology platforms such as MuleSoft and IBM DataStage.
  • Knowledge of data management concepts including structured and unstructured data, batch, and real-time integrations.
  • Solid knowledge of general data integration and conversion scripting, programming, and workflow development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelors/MS in Computer Science or related technology field.
  • Relevant Industry certifications.
