About the position
The position involves designing and constructing large relational databases for data warehousing, focusing on data modeling, acquisition, access analysis, and implementation of data management systems. The role requires continuous improvement of existing systems and integration of new data, while adhering to standards set by HIPAA and other patient data management policies. The candidate will also be responsible for developing ETL routines and solving data management problems through customization of vendor software tools.
Responsibilities
- Design and construct large relational databases for data warehousing.
- Develop data modeling and manage data acquisition and access analysis.
- Integrate new data with existing warehouse structures and improve system functionality.
- Assist in the development of enterprise data models for MCH and vendor systems.
- Design and support the full information lifecycle management (ILM) stream.
- Develop and document Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) routines for data extraction and transformation.
- Develop solutions to data management problems through a specification process.
- Perform conceptual, logical, physical, multi-dimensional, and hierarchical data modeling using leading tools.
- Set design, test, documentation, and implementation standards in accordance with HIPAA and other policies.
Requirements
- 7 years experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex architectures for data management.
- 7 years experience in Information Systems development, implementation, and support.
- 7 years experience in analysis and design related to complex transactional and operational data stores.
- BS in Computer Sciences/Information Systems or 5 years experience in a technical role.
- Data modeling experience.
- Experience with database and application object management, including DDL and table constraints.
- Experience managing disk storage allocation and usage.
- Experience with RDBMS architecture and database setup, configuration, and tuning.
- Solid Oracle or SQL Server skills and data warehouse design experience (5 years hands-on).
- Utilization of reporting tools like Microsoft Reporting Services, Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy.
