The position involves leading highly complex or enterprise-critical projects that architect an efficient way to manage data across a diverse but unified data tier. The role requires designing, translating business requirements, developing, documenting, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and administrating the data environment using various tools such as ETL, Data Virtualization, Business Intelligence Reporting, and Big Data tool sets. The successful candidate will help design, build, and manage data pipelines for data structures, which include data transformation mapping, data flow diagrams, logical and physical data models, and metadata collection. In this role, you will work closely with both IT and business teams to develop, manage, and integrate business intelligence reporting, analytics, and data science outputs into business processes and workflows. You will be responsible for developing data strategies and translating them into data integration frameworks and reporting to enable business analytics. This includes providing a standard common business vocabulary, expressing strategic data requirements, outlining high-level integrated designs to meet these requirements, and aligning with enterprise strategy and related business architectures. You will lead planning sessions with customers to improve business processes and prioritize investments in data and infrastructure. Collaboration with the Technical Review Board and Enterprise Architects is essential to ensure that all systems align with the long-term IT strategy. Proactively analyzing existing data structures or reporting to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements is a key responsibility. You may also oversee or lead the evaluation and selection process for new data application packages. Additionally, you will develop and document IT data models (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical) to facilitate efficient and effective use of data. Implementing and maintaining solutions for modeling, ETL/API, data mining, and metadata management will be part of your duties. You will develop a decision matrix on when to use various data platforms (data warehouse, data mart, big data, or data virtualization) and lead efforts to identify data requirements, develop data specifications, enforce data governance, and apply data modeling patterns. Your role will also involve assisting with developing and executing best practices for naming, governing, managing, modeling, cleansing, transforming, moving, storing, and searching all data. Ensuring that changes to the data environment comply with architectural standards is crucial. You will actively participate in design and data model reviews, providing constructive feedback to Application Developers. Managing multiple priorities of projects and requests, proposing appropriate changes to the enterprise data architecture, and adhering to data quality standards and procedures will be essential tasks. You will define development guidelines and standards for data management on structured and unstructured data sets, demonstrate project management skills, and may serve as a lead on IT projects. Providing Tier III support for reporting, data structures, and related data applications, along with offering technical guidance, business process expertise, and technical leadership to team members, will be part of your responsibilities. Establishing liaison relationships with business partners and/or suppliers to provide technical solutions that meet user needs and influence strategic initiatives is also expected.
