As a Senior Data Architect at CCC Intelligent Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data architecture that supports our innovative cloud platform for the P&C insurance economy. This position is remote, allowing you to work from various locations throughout the U.S., with headquarters based in Chicago, IL. Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing, designing, and developing robust database solutions that enhance our software products and improve database operations. You will be tasked with researching and proposing new ideas and initiatives to determine the viability of potential solutions, ensuring that our data architecture remains cutting-edge and effective. In this role, you will perform comprehensive data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical modeling for transactional systems, as well as dimensional and columnar data modeling. You will build end-to-end data processes and complex data pipelines, utilizing your expertise in SQL to write highly readable and efficient queries. Your ability to present and communicate data analysis findings will be crucial, as you will need to elicit and translate business requirements into feasible and acceptable data-centric semantic layer designs. You will lead discussions to document database best practices and procedures, contributing to the definition of reference software architecture. Coordination of production deployment tasks with both internal and external teams will be a key aspect of your role, including code promotion and documentation. Additionally, you will assist your team in troubleshooting production processes when errors or failures occur, ensuring that our systems run smoothly and efficiently. The technical environment you will be working in includes a variety of data store technologies such as RDBMSs (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres), NoSQL databases (Mongo, Cassandra), and AWS cloud platform. Your expertise in PLSQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, and exception handling will be essential for retrieving, manipulating, and migrating complex data sets in RDBMS. You will also engage in database maintenance features such as partitioning, purging, and scheduling jobs, as well as scripting in Shell and Python.
