About the position

The Sr. Data Engineer role at Amazon Prime Video involves working within a large and complex data warehouse environment to create and manage datasets that provide meaningful insights for strategic decision-making. The position requires collaboration with various teams to develop data engineering solutions that address complex business questions, utilizing advanced analytics and AWS technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support an analytical data infrastructure providing ad hoc access to large datasets and computing power
• Manage AWS resources
• Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies
• Explore and learn the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency
• Work with external data vendors to onboard data into existing infrastructure
• Collaborate with Analysts, Business Intelligence Engineers, and Data Scientists to implement advanced analytics algorithms that exploit our rich data sets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, and machine learning
• Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, simplifying self-service support for customers

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with SQL
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
• Experience operating large data warehouses
