About the position
The Sr Data Engineer position is a senior-level role focused on designing, developing, and implementing ETL solutions and data warehouse architectures. The role requires extensive experience in data engineering, particularly with Business Intelligence tools and cloud services, to support data integration and analytics initiatives. The position is hybrid, requiring local candidates to commute to the office three times a week.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and implement Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) solutions using enterprise ELT/ETL tools.
- Develop and implement data integration, data lake, and data warehouse solutions in both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Maintain and optimize data pipelines and ETL jobs using tools like IBM DataStage, Informatica, Matillion, FiveTran, Talend, or Dbt.
- Work with Business Intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos and Power BI to create data models for self-service analytics.
- Collaborate with data science teams to support AI/ML engineering and predictive analytics initiatives.
- Utilize AWS cloud services for data storage and processing, including S3, EMR, Lambda, Glue, Sage Maker, Redshift, and Athena.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on ETL and data warehousing.
- 7 years of development experience preferred, or 10 years of comparable work experience required.
- 10 years of experience designing and implementing ETL solutions.
- 5 years of experience with Business Intelligence tools, preferably IBM Cognos, Power BI, and Alteryx.
- 7 years of experience working with APIs, data as a service, and data marketplaces.
- 10 years of experience with various Software Development Life Cycle methods such as Agile, SCRUM, and Waterfall.
- Experience in a 100+ TB data environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Snowflake as a data warehousing solution.
- Familiarity with data modeling for advanced analytics and user applications.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and pipelines.
