About the position

The Sr. Data Engineer position within Amazon Robotics focuses on developing and deploying high-quality data solutions for the Global Operations - Artificial Intelligence (GO-AI) Technology & Development Team. This role involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to enhance data architecture and operational excellence, ensuring the delivery of efficient and maintainable data systems that support Amazon's machine learning transformation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy GO-AI data solutions that are secure, testable, maintainable, and efficient.
• Identify problems constructively and propose solutions to improve GO-AI's data architecture.
• Focus on operational excellence and take on projects that enhance data systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with SQL
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language (Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS)
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices
• Solid understanding of data design approaches
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a relevant field

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS technologies (Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, FireHose, Lambda, IAM roles and permissions, Athena, RDS, DynamoDB, AWS Elastic Search)
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases/data stores
• Experience coding in Python and TypeScript
• Experience designing and operating large data warehouses
• Experience writing REST APIs
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams developing AI, machine learning, or robotic solutions
