About the position

The Data Engineer position within the Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging Integrated Systems team at Amazon focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure to support data storage, processing, and analysis. This role is pivotal in shaping how the team accesses and utilizes data to inform critical decision-making, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance customer experiences through innovative data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure for data storage, processing, and analysis.
• Develop ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and store structured and unstructured data into AWS data stores.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business intelligence teams to understand data needs and provide reliable data solutions.
• Automate data processes and workflows using AWS services for efficient data handling.
• Improve data quality monitoring and alarming across big data pipelines.
• Define the future of MSP Solutions data architecture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with SQL
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language (Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS)
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
• Experience operating large data warehouses.
