About the position

As a Senior Data Engineer at Conagra, you will play a pivotal role in leading and owning the Palantir platform within our Enterprise Data Platform. Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that Palantir is effectively utilized to streamline the process of accessing and analyzing critical data, thereby enabling efficient decision-making across the organization. In today's data-driven landscape, your expertise in Palantir will be essential for driving the success of our data initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional Portfolio and Business Teams, acting as the subject matter expert in Palantir, and mentoring other engineers to develop data products that align with our strategic goals. Your role will encompass overseeing the deployment and ongoing management of Palantir Foundry, ensuring it meets the strategic data needs of the organization. You will enable development teams by providing them with the necessary tools and support to build robust data solutions within the Palantir environment. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and managing Ontology within Palantir, ensuring that these are designed and validated with key business stakeholders and optimized for performance. Automation and testing will also be a significant part of your responsibilities, as you will develop automated processes for data validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout all phases of the data lifecycle. As a mentor, you will guide junior engineers and offshore teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. Performance optimization will be crucial, as you will identify and resolve data performance bottlenecks within Palantir to ensure the platform operates efficiently. Furthermore, you will implement best practices in data governance within Palantir, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security standards, and ensure seamless integration of Palantir with other data platforms and tools, providing ongoing support to maintain platform health and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the deployment and ongoing management of Palantir Foundry within our Enterprise Data Platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing them with the tools and support needed to build robust data solutions within the Palantir environment.
  • Create and manage Ontology within Palantir, ensuring they are designed and validated with key business stakeholders and optimized for performance.
  • Develop automated processes for data validation, ensuring data accuracy and integrity during all phases of the data lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide offshore teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Identify and resolve data performance bottlenecks within Palantir, ensuring the platform operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Implement best practices in data governance within Palantir, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security standards.
  • Ensure seamless integration of Palantir with other data platforms and tools, providing ongoing support to ensure platform health and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred, or 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role.
  • Extensive experience with PySpark, data modeling, pipeline development, and platform optimization. Palantir certification is encouraged.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with data scientists, business analysts, and leadership, with a proven track record of mentoring and leading technical teams.
  • Deep experience (5+ years) in managing and transforming large datasets, with proficiency in SQL, PySpark, and related tools.
  • Experience operating within an Agile framework to manage and deliver complex data projects.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and experience implementing these within Palantir.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
