About the position

The Sr. Data Engineer/Sr. Analyst role at Lincoln Financial Group focuses on providing expertise in application development within the Customer360 Master Data Management and Search Services teams. This position is responsible for leading complex projects, maintaining a cloud-based enterprise data platform, and ensuring optimal configuration and performance of technology components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data processing and cloud environments, particularly AWS, and will play a key role in enhancing data processing efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of ETL data pipelines in an AWS environment, covering the full data pipeline lifecycle.
  • Gain expert-level understanding of the MDM and Search technology portfolio.
  • Provide first-level support for production issues and complete root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Maintain best practices for optimized software development, CI/CD, and Observability.
  • Analyze, design, debug, integrate, and test complex software application solutions.
  • Serve as a technical expert and provide guidance to junior team members.
  • Direct development teams in project scheduling, technical direction, and application development standards.
  • Contribute to project plans, test plans, and implementation plans, including estimates on time frames and resources.
  • Stay updated on current and emerging developments in the field and collaborate with management to incorporate new trends.
  • Investigate and resolve problems, providing timely support for production systems.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure systems are designed and implemented from a business perspective.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (EMR, EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, Cloudwatch, SNS, SQS, Secret Manager, IAM, S3, RDS).
  • Proficiency in Unix shell scripting.
  • Experience with Hadoop HDFS.
  • Knowledge of Rest API and Java.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Apache Big Data tools (Spark, Hive, Sqoop, Pig).
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Knowledge of Presto SQL and Informatica.
  • Experience with AutoSys.
