About the position

As a Senior IT Data Engineer at DeVry University, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and optimizing modern cloud data solutions using Salesforce Data Cloud and Azure Synapse. This position involves supporting the migration of existing integrations and data models to these platforms while working in an agile environment. You will be responsible for enhancing data usability, reliability, and quality, and leveraging AI technologies to improve organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist business users with technical solutions
• Gather requirements, perform data analysis, and profile data to design appropriate solutions
• Research Salesforce Data Cloud capabilities to satisfy business requirements and provide gap analysis
• Author and maintain system configuration documentation
• Work with the latest AI technologies to simplify the development process
• Be a thought leader in leveraging Salesforce Data Cloud capabilities to improve organizational efficiency
• Develop data models and segments for data of interest to be pulled into the University Data Hub and Salesforce Data Cloud
• Improve data usability, reliability, efficiency, security, and quality in adherence with industry best practices
• Plan and execute data integration strategies for batch and near real-time data
• Acquire, ingest, and process data from multiple source systems into the data lake
• Design, develop, document, and test ADF data pipelines that ingest and store data from structured and unstructured sources

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
• Minimum 7 years of overall experience with 5+ years in a Data Engineering role
• 1+ years of relevant experience with Salesforce Data Cloud implementations
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in Azure, including Data Factory, SQL query development, Synapse, and Data Lake Storage
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail, thoroughness, and quality

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using Google Cloud Platform / BigQuery
• Experience using PowerBI or similar Data Visualization tools
• Experience with data preparation or data profiling tools
• Knowledge of data lineage and data governance
