In addition to development, the role encompasses project management responsibilities, where the candidate will assist in establishing and monitoring project plans, providing estimates, and comparing them to actuals to assess impacts on schedules and costs. The Sr. Data Engineer will also set standards for test design, guide others in improving test scripts, and implement performance tests as required. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, where the candidate will lead others in addressing complex issues and utilize sophisticated analytical thought to identify innovative solutions. The role is not only technical but also requires strong interpersonal skills, as the candidate will need to communicate solutions and analyses across departments and to customers in a clear and concise manner. Responsibilities

• Designs and develops data and/or reporting solutions with moderate to high complexity that also have moderate to significant business criticality.
• Develop data set processes and work towards continuously improving data availability, reliability, efficiency, and quality.
• Use large data sets to address business issues and provide full software development lifecycle support.
• Responsible for design, security, standards, data quality, and compliance processes.
• Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
• May lead functional teams or projects and has in-depth domain knowledge of the relevant business area/s.
• Key responsibilities include requirement analysis, design, code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain data and/or analytics solutions.

Requirements

• Technical Skills: Must have expertise in Tableau, Tableau Prep, MySQL or SQL Server.
• Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in interpreting business issues and recommending best practices.
• Adept in communicating complex business and technical concepts with the development team and management.
• Exceptional knowledge of interfaces, APIs, and networks, with a detailed understanding of logical and physical data structures.
• Exceptionally skilled in developing solutions to solve highly complex problems and providing coaching to others.
• Sets standards for test design and provides guidance for improving test scripts.
