About the position

The Senior Data Engineer will play a crucial role in the Enterprise Data Platforms, Risk and Finance Technology team by managing existing Data Frameworks and developing new frameworks to address data challenges across the enterprise. This position involves leading a team of engineers, mentoring them, and building and deploying data products while ensuring high performance and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical requirements of Data Frameworks and build solutions to meet them.
• Identify opportunities to expand the frameworks and create new frameworks for reuse across multiple use cases.
• Build robust data pipelines to collect, process, and compute metrics from various financial sources, adhering to quality and development standards.
• Design application architecture and technical design, articulating the data frameworks to team members and data engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop optimal solutions that meet data demands.
• Deploy high-performing, quality/bug-free code in production.
• Execute unit tests of data populated in target data containers, validating expected results and ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Coordinate with business users for User Acceptance Testing and with Operations team for code deployment to upper environments.
• Follow change management team stipulations on path to production requirements and adhere to compliance and regulatory needs.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in relevant technologies.
• Working experience with streaming capabilities such as Apache Spark, Beam, Flink.
• Experience with message brokers/messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka.
• Proven track record of working with microservices and batch sources.
• Hands-on experience in programming languages such as Java and Scala.
• Excellent skills in SQL Development.
• Experience with ETL Development tools like Talend or Data Stage is a plus.
• Experience with Java Spring Boot, React, Typescript, Angular for UI is a plus.
• Deep understanding of Cloud offerings for Data processing, preferably AWS.
• Ability to work on AWS S3, Redshift, and other databases such as Postgres, Oracle, MongoDB.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ETL Development tools like Talend, Data Stage.
