About the position

The Sr. Data Engineer role at INSPYR Solutions involves applying practical knowledge of development and engineering to design, develop, test, and implement data processes within the food and beverage supply chain technology sector. The position requires expertise in SQL development and report/dashboarding using MicroStrategy in a hybrid work environment, with a focus on agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Create data mappings, extracts, transformations, data migration, and uploads.
  • Configure supply chain technology for business use.
  • Own SQL and script programming, validation, testing, and debugging of applications after data loads.
  • Gather reporting requirements, design reports, and develop reports for business use.
  • Create stories in JIRA backlogs and participate in agile ceremonies.
  • Review and write code that meets set quality gates.
  • Create/update documentation for reproducible data loading and configuration.
  • Interact and coordinate work with other technical and testing groups in the organization.
  • Coordinate team members in finding root-cause of problems and issue resolution.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field or related work experience.
  • 5+ years of progressively related experience in data extracts, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with food & beverage supply chain technology.
  • Deep skills in SQL development using Oracle DB, MS SQL, Snowflake on Windows and RHEL environments.
  • Report/dashboarding development experience using MicroStrategy Cloud Environment.
  • Experience with Agile Tools (Jira).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-organized, and capable of tracking multiple pieces of work simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle virtual teams and work with resources in multiple sites (onsite, offshore, near shore).
  • Excellent time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of report writing against Snowflake and Oracle and MS SQL Server DBs.
  • Experience with Blue Yonder's Forecasting and Replenishment technology and Crunchtime including associated interface/data structures.
