About the position

The Senior Data Engineer will lead the Enterprise Data Services team, focusing on transforming data from various systems to provide insights and analytics for business stakeholders. This role involves leveraging cloud-based infrastructure to implement scalable, resilient, and efficient technology solutions. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and business leaders to architect, design, implement, and operate data engineering solutions using Agile methodology, enabling informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Transform data from disparate systems to provide insights and analytics.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, DBAs, and business leaders.
• Architect, design, implement, and operate data engineering solutions.
• Utilize Agile methodology for project management.
• Lead and take ownership of assigned technical projects.
• Serve as a liaison with business users to identify solutions to their problems.
• Provide technical counsel to other Data Engineers and review their work.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of post-degree professional experience.
• At least 5+ years of experience in the Airline industry.
• 4+ years of development experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
• 3+ years of experience with database technologies and data development such as Python, PLSQL.
• Experience in mentoring junior team members through code reviews.
• Deep understanding of writing test cases to ensure data quality and reliability.
• Track record of advancing new technologies to improve data quality and reliability.

Nice-to-haves

• Vantage Master 2.0 certifications / Vantage Data Science Master certifications.
• Expert skills in Teradata architecture and components.
• Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation.
