About the position

The Senior Data Engineer at Hollywood Park is responsible for designing, coding, and maintaining data pipelines that clean, process, and harmonize data from various sources. This role is crucial for developing and maintaining the data infrastructure to support business objectives, ensuring seamless data processing and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines using ETL processes and modern cloud technologies.
  • Contribute to the evolution of data architecture, optimizing data storage, retrieval, and processing.
  • Leverage expertise with major cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) to build and manage cloud-based data solutions.
  • Design and implement APIs for seamless data exchange between systems and applications.
  • Manage and optimize databases (SQL and NoSQL) for data integrity, availability, and performance.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines and processes for efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a data engineer with a proven track record of building and maintaining complex data systems.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (Python, Java, Scala, etc.).
  • Expertise in ETL tools and frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling and warehousing principles.
  • Familiarity with API design and development.
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure), with preference for Google Cloud certifications.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Knowledge of machine learning principles and algorithms.
  • Ticketmaster API experience.
