About the position

The Senior Data Engineer at AnewHealth is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems. This role requires collaboration with data scientists, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality, accessibility, and security, particularly in the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering and a strong understanding of data warehouse technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Lead data curation, data readiness, and MLOps towards a comprehensive data strategy and execution.
  • Work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Applied Scientists to understand data requirements and ensure data availability and quality.
  • Implement data governance and security best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval mechanisms to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to data architecture, processes, and workflows.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from Snowflake to continuously improve system performance.
  • Deploy data solutions to AWS cloud platform and integrate them with existing applications.
  • Utilize multi-tier architecture with Data Vault modeling style for data warehouse architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in data engineering, including building and managing data pipelines.
  • Experience in supporting scalable cloud solutions in AWS.
  • Proficiency in programming languages Python, SQL, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with AWS big data technologies (e.g., EMR, Redshift, Kinesis).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing solutions Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS database management systems (e.g., RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora).
  • Experience in generating sample data using statistical modeling techniques.
  • Experience in deploying data solutions to AWS cloud platform and integrating them with applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in innovating to solve and simplify clinical workflows.
