About the position

The Sr. Data Engineer will work closely with stakeholders to understand and fulfill data needs for the business. This role involves designing and implementing data solutions, teaching users how to derive actionable insights from data, and exploring new opportunities in AI and machine learning. The position is primarily remote with an average requirement of one day per week onsite at the St. Petersburg office.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems and infrastructures that collect and process data according to company needs and goals.
  • Evolve and scale out infrastructure to ingest, process, and extract meaning from data.
  • Design, develop, and implement statistical models for classification and information extraction from data.
  • Leverage existing data infrastructure to fulfill data-related requests and perform data housekeeping tasks.
  • Analyze data to identify anomalies, trends, and correlations among data sets.
  • Design, develop, and implement natural language processing software modules.
  • Troubleshoot problems, identify possible solutions, and resolve issues accordingly.
  • Build visualizations and interactive dashboards to present key metrics and KPIs.
  • Construct data pipelines using proven methods to prepare, refine, and deliver data via ETL tools.
  • Analyze large, complex data sets using advanced query optimization techniques to extract insights.
  • Utilize predictive modeling techniques to evaluate model performance and optimize results.
  • Adhere to data governance policies to maintain data security and privacy.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Proficient in data engineering and technical expertise in relevant tools and languages.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, DAX, SSRS, SSIS, Python, R, JavaScript, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
