About the position

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Anaheim, California. This hybrid position requires candidates to be onsite once a month, and only those residing in the Southern California area will be considered due to the nature of the role. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting the corporate Master Data Management (MDM), Operational Data Stores (ODS), and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platforms. This role involves collaborating with the Data Analytics Steering Committee (DASC), the Technology team, and product stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain these enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate will develop innovative and best practice techniques for modeling, developing, enhancing, and deploying database, reporting, and integration solutions. They will lead new data integration and reporting initiatives that support organizational priorities while ensuring compliance with the organization's IT and architectural standards. The Senior Data Engineer will establish organization-wide Common Data Platform (CDP) and data integration standards. They will participate in systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines. Essential functions include designing, constructing, installing, testing, and maintaining highly scalable MDM, ODS, CRM, and EDW platforms with state-of-the-art security, monitoring, and logging practices. The role also requires RDBMS (Microsoft SQL) and NoSQL design, implementation, and maintenance for integration with other platforms, as well as bringing together large, complex, and sparse data sets to meet functional and non-functional business requirements. The Senior Data Engineer will design and implement data tools for analytics and assist business teams in understanding and leveraging the implications and benefits of MDM, ODS, CRM, and EDW solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support corporate Master Data Management (MDM), Operational Data Stores (ODS), and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Data Analytics Steering Committee (DASC), Technology team, and product stakeholders.
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise platforms.
  • Develop innovative techniques for modeling, developing, enhancing, and deploying database, reporting, and integration solutions.
  • Lead new data integration and reporting initiatives that support organizational priorities.
  • Establish organization-wide Common Data Platform (CDP) and data integration standards.
  • Participate in systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, and training.
  • Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable MDM, ODS, CRM, and EDW platforms.
  • Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
  • Assist business teams in understanding and leveraging MDM, ODS, CRM, and EDW solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of SQL Development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Informatica.
  • Experience with Azure.
  • 2+ years of experience with Snowflake.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in architecting, designing, and configuring multi-domain MDM and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
  • At least five (5) years of relevant data management consulting or industry experience (master data, metadata, data architecture, data governance, data quality, data modeling).
  • At least five (5) years of experience with relational SQL systems including PL/SQL, T-SQL, Job configuration/management, and performance tuning.
  • At least five (5) years of experience with designing, implementing, and supporting ETL, ELT, Change Data Capture (CDC), streaming, and similar data ingestion processes.
  • At least three (3) years of experience with non-RDBMS platforms.
  • At least three (3) years of experience with modern programming languages.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or 5+ years equivalent professional experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MDM, particularly in Informatica multi-domain MDM editions including Entity 360 and ActiveVOS.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 360.
  • Experience with CoPilot and Customer Insights.
  • Experience with iPaaS toolsets: MuleSoft, Informatica Cloud, TIBCO.
  • Experience with one or more Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Experience with one or more data and reporting tools such as Informatica, SSIS, SSRS, Tableau, Power BI, Micro Strategy.
