About the position

The Sr. Data Engineer at AWS is responsible for developing and implementing innovative data solutions that enhance customer experiences and drive operational excellence. This role involves managing AWS resources, collaborating with various technology teams, and utilizing advanced analytics to derive insights from complex datasets. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about cutting-edge technology and building scalable data-centric solutions.

Responsibilities

• Managing AWS resources including Kinesis, Glue, RDS, S3, Redshift, Quicksight, etc.
• Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies.
• Explore and learn the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs) to recognize and help adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Collaborate with other tech teams to implement advanced analytics algorithms that exploit our rich datasets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, machine learning, and Generative AI.
• Work directly with our key customer stakeholders to help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with SQL
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
• Experience operating large data warehouses.
