About the position

The Analytic Platform Architect will be an integral part of the team responsible for building and maintaining cloud analytic platforms, specifically focusing on Dataiku hosted on AWS and utilizing AWS serverless architecture, including EMR Studio. This role encompasses the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Dataiku platform within GE Aerospace. The architect will be tasked with the installation and configuration of Dataiku software, ensuring seamless integration with various tools and data sources. Collaboration is key in this position, as the architect will work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and business line stakeholders to ensure that the platform is effectively utilized to meet business objectives. In this role, the Analytic Platform Architect will address complex aspects of information management and analytics, focusing on user experience, performance, security, and governance, as well as platform and infrastructure management. The architect will strive to reduce technical hurdles, simplify data access, automate data processes, and serve as a subject matter expert, providing coaching and consultation to partners and other technologists. Additionally, the architect will be responsible for building and managing tools to monitor platform performance and usage, ensuring high availability and reliability of the platform. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to Dataiku DSS will also be a critical part of the role, requiring close collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders. The position demands a strong background in data lakes, data warehouses, and relational databases, along with extensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. The architect should possess deep experience with Dataiku DSS and the AWS serverless data science stack, as well as proficiency in Python and SQL. Knowledge of AWS services, including EKS, S3, and security protocols, is essential, along with familiarity with CloudFormation, IAM policies, AWS Networking, and Amazon Linux administration. The architect should also have a solid understanding of Spark and distributed processing execution, experience in automating manual processes, and a strong foundation in information/data architecture and data engineering. Familiarity with data science concepts and IT process automation is also beneficial. The ability to teach technical concepts to non-technical users is crucial, as is an approachable demeanor to assist users from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience, OR an Associate's degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, OR a High School Diploma with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent (STEM).
  • Experience with managing data applications.
  • Experience using data science/statistics and machine learning concepts.
  • Knowledge of Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, MLlib, and H2O libraries.
