The position involves leading highly complex or enterprise-critical projects that architect an efficient way to manage data across a diverse but unified data tier. The role requires designing, translating business requirements, developing, documenting, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and administrating the data environment using ETL, Data Virtualization, Business Intelligence Reporting, and Big Data tool sets. The successful candidate will help design, build, and manage data pipelines for data structures, encompassing data transformation mapping, data flow diagrams, logical and physical data models, and metadata collection. The individual will work collaboratively with both IT and business teams to develop, manage, and integrate business intelligence reporting, analytics, and data science outputs into business processes and workflows. They will assist in developing data strategies and translating them into data integration frameworks and reporting to enable business analytics. A key responsibility will be to provide a standard common business vocabulary, express strategic data requirements, outline high-level integrated designs to meet these requirements, and align with enterprise strategy and related business architectures. The role also involves leading planning sessions with customers to improve business processes and prioritize investments in data and infrastructure. The candidate will work closely with the Technical Review Board and Enterprise Architects to ensure all systems align with the long-term IT strategy. Proactive analysis of existing data structures or reporting to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements is essential. The position may also oversee or lead the evaluation and selection process for new data application packages, develop and document IT data models (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical), and implement and maintain solutions for modeling, ETL/API, data mining, and metadata management. Additionally, the candidate will develop a decision matrix on when to use various data platforms (data warehouse, data mart, big data, or data virtualization), lead efforts to identify data requirements, develop data specifications, enforce data governance, apply data modeling patterns, and develop data conversion and migration designs. They will assist with developing and executing best practices for naming, governing, managing, modeling, cleansing, transforming, moving, storing, and searching all data, ensuring compliance with architectural standards. The role requires managing multiple priorities of projects and requests, proposing appropriate changes to the enterprise data architecture, adhering to data quality standards, and providing Tier III support for reporting, data structures, and related data applications. The candidate will also establish liaison relationships with business partners and/or suppliers to provide technical solutions that meet user needs and influence strategic initiatives.
