About the position

The position is for a data product subject matter expert at Chamberlain Group, focusing on developing data-driven solutions to support business partners in making informed decisions. This hybrid role combines elements of Business Intelligence (BI) analysis and Analytics Engineering, ensuring that data products are accessible and useful for stakeholders. The role involves collaboration with various teams to deliver timely and relevant data insights, ultimately influencing the company's success.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the data product subject matter expert and collaborate with business leaders, data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers.
  • Understand business partners' data needs, gather requirements, and translate business problems into technical solutions.
  • Develop and implement data models, tables, and dashboards to help the business interpret data and derive insights.
  • Design flexible dashboards that enable quick answers to business questions.
  • Champion data solutions for use across multiple teams within Chamberlain Group.
  • Promote data product adoption through training materials, webinars, and hands-on training.
  • Conduct independent research on product experiences and data to provide critical insights.
  • Explore and onboard new third-party data sources to improve business performance.
  • Develop and adopt best practices for building analytical insights, including data integrity and validation.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members regarding best practices and skill development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Analytics/Business Intelligence, leading projects and building actionable data-based solutions in a cloud environment.
  • Advanced experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Intermediate experience with Python 3, focusing on Pandas, Polars, or Spark for data analytics.
  • Experience creating self-service analytics within Azure Cloud architecture, PowerBI, and/or Databricks.
  • Experience working with large data volumes, both structured and unstructured.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse/data modeling concepts and procedures.
  • Strong business acumen to help partners decipher their data needs.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead projects from conception to conclusion, independently and in teams.
  • Ability to develop and deliver end-user materials such as training or project artifacts.
  • Working knowledge of Azure cloud-based architecture and PowerBI.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Power BI Development and Design-related certification.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, and ADLS Gen 2.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Firebase, Big Query, Event Hubs, Kafka, Salesforce, SAP, and CDP platforms such as Tealium.
  • Experience building and creating web-based data visualizations.
  • Familiarity with project management/tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Experience working with a software/technology organization.
