About the position

The Senior Data Scientist at Under Armour will be a key member of the Enterprise Data Management & Analytics organization, focusing on developing machine learning solutions that support various business units globally. This role involves leveraging advanced statistical techniques and machine learning to solve real-world problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven initiatives, and enhancing AI capabilities within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and expand machine learning and AI solutions for global price optimization and enterprise data management.
  • Leverage AWS cloud computing solutions to develop and deploy models at scale, adhering to best practices in data science and MLOps.
  • Propose novel statistical and machine learning methods to address key business challenges.
  • Become an expert in internal price optimization modeling methodology, extracting and communicating insights to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and modeling techniques.
  • Collaborate to drive improvements through the product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Identify opportunities for AI-driven innovation and collaborate with AI/ML scientists to develop generative AI algorithms.
  • Assist in building and enhancing AI capabilities and infrastructure within the organization.
  • Communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with data querying languages, scripting languages, or statistical/mathematical software, or a Master's degree with typically 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Practical experience with XGBoost, LightGBM, Prophet, supply chain optimization models, or Bayesian statistics.
  • Ability to apply data science to real-world problems and break down complex issues into solvable components.
  • Knowledge of model specification, comparison, selection, and deployment best practices.
  • Ability to interpret and present specialized data to various audiences.
  • Prior experience working on an agile team is preferred.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) in a team setting is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to guide deep-dive sessions to ideate production paths to solutions.
  • Writing skills for creating tutorials, newsletters, and presentations for diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with current Generative AI tools from various models.
  • Prior experience with AWS services (e.g., Sagemaker, S3, ECR).
