About the position

The Sr. Database Administrator position involves a range of responsibilities centered around the installation, configuration, tuning, testing, and maintenance of complex computer databases. The role requires the implementation of high availability solutions and the ability to gather and interpret functional specifications and user requirements, translating them into technical requirements and design documents. The successful candidate will support and maintain all corporate SQL Server databases, develop business-critical reports, and ensure the application functions are supported and maintained effectively. In addition to database management, the role includes creating database tables, classes, and converting data into the correct format. The candidate will be responsible for creating stored procedures, views, user-defined functions, and triggers, as well as automating jobs and implementing migrations and upgrades. Coordination with cross-functional teams is essential for the delivery of projects and tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures. The position also involves approving, scheduling, planning, and supervising the installation and testing of new products or improvements, debugging programs, and planning and implementing security measures to safeguard information in computer files against unauthorized access or damage. The Sr. Database Administrator will ensure that databases meet best practices for security, test databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications. Disaster recovery planning and execution are also critical components of the role. Mentoring and assisting less experienced team members, as well as training users, are expected duties. The tools and technologies utilized in this position include Windows, VMware, SQL Server, Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, SQL Profiler, DTS, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Crystal Reports, Power BI, SQL, MySQL, VSTS, HTML, XML, C+, CSS, and related tools.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, tune, test, and maintain complex computer databases.
  • Implement high availability solutions for databases.

  • Support and maintain all corporate SQL Server databases.
  • Develop business-critical reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (equivalent foreign degree accepted).
  • Two years of experience as a Database Administrator, Database Architect, Network Architect, or in a related occupation.
  • Experience with VMware, SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Teradata, Netezza, Netbackup, NZload, and BTEQ.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com platform and APEX triggers.
