About the position

The Sr. Database Administrator at Next Level Business Services, Inc. is responsible for managing and analyzing data, ensuring database performance, and providing technical support for business applications. This role involves designing and maintaining high-performance database solutions, implementing security measures, and conducting disaster recovery planning. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure effective database management and automation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides database support for business applications and schedules backup jobs for user databases.
  • Provides access control (password resets/account creation/deletion) and checks IP compliance.
  • Performs data purging and data replication activities.
  • Researches connectivity issues and recurring errors in Application database.
  • Responds to database alerts and takes appropriate actions.
  • Provides escalation Level 1 and 2 Technical 24x7 support.
  • Performs database creations and performance tuning.
  • Performs application database maintenance and provides technical assistance to users.
  • Manages database account access and database object changes.
  • Ensures that monitoring and alerts are properly in place to meet monitoring requirements.
  • Performs application database and OS scripting.
  • Reviews Information Protection compliance reports and notifications for individual databases.
  • Performs database recovery from logs, hot and cold backups, Export/Imports, and Disaster Recovery.
  • Performs database creation, decommissioning, and updates/migrations.
  • Monitors and reports existing database Instance, Database, Server activities for CPU, Memory, and Cache.
  • Provides Escalation Level 2 Technical 24x7 support.
  • Performs Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery activities during Business Continuity Plan events.
  • Plans, schedules, and implements operating system software installs and patches.
  • Implements database security and auditing features and conducts root cause analysis for repeated incidents.
  • Performs heterogeneous database interface deployment and support for various data interfaces.
  • Plans and develops processes for database updates and migrations.
  • Develops capacity planning processes and recommends effective resource utilization.
  • Conducts team training and is responsible for resource management.
  • Provides escalation Level 2 and 3 Technical 24x7 support.
  • Researches new technologies to address operations reliability and compliance.

Requirements

  • Experience in creating and maintaining high performance, scalable, and stable database solutions.
  • Ability to work with customers, deployment squads, and product management to identify and document use case scenarios.
  • Expertise in setting data standards and providing technical guidance to development teams.
  • Experience in designing highly available database solutions that meet disaster recovery requirements.
  • Knowledge in designing effective data store solutions for capacity planning and data life-cycle management.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining automated systems for AWS Cloud-based products and services.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with automations and ensure efficient solutions.
  • Experience in monitoring and validating performance and functionality of automated processes.
  • Ability to mentor team members on new technologies and automation processes.
