About the position

The Senior Database Analyst is responsible for designing, improving, evaluating, measuring, tracking trends, implementing, testing, planning, and coordinating all aspects of the McLane Company network and network security. This role involves installing and maintaining Golden Gate and Oracle Databases software, providing guidance for Golden Gate deployments, monitoring database environments, and collaborating with application development teams on various projects.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, and support Golden Gate software.
• Work with Oracle Database 19c and any future release.
• Identify and solve complex problems proactively and lead effective solutions implementation.
• Perform system maintenance, backup and recovery, support active Data Guard for DR, and quarterly patching.
• Continuously learn new tools and environments and acquire new skills to maintain and enhance job performance.
• Provide the appropriate implementation documentation for installs.
• Support implementation and post-implementation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years' experience working with Golden Gate and Oracle DB
• Strong knowledge of OEM
• Thorough knowledge of Oracle RDBMS 19c and above, including ASM, OEM, RMAN, Data Guard and Data Pump, all running on Exadata
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database monitoring and tuning using OEM and AWR
• Strong knowledge of Database Backup and recovery using RMAN backups
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
• Strong knowledge of Linux Operating System, SUSE, RedHat, and Oracle Enterprise Linux with shell scripting knowledge
• Identify and resolve poorly executing SQL (high reads/execution counts/extended runtimes)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Project Management and strong analytical skills are also desired

• Working knowledge of Golden Gate is highly desirable
