About the position
The Sr. Database Developer is responsible for designing and implementing ETL processes, translating business requirements into technical specifications, and ensuring data quality across various systems. This role requires extensive experience with SQL/PLSQL and Informatica, as well as a strong understanding of data management concepts such as Data Federations, Data Lake, and Data Mesh. The developer will collaborate with multiple teams to deliver high-quality database solutions and lead complex ETL flows.
Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Design and implement ETL (Informatica) processes using SQL, ETL tools, and Linux shell scripting.
- Conduct strong data analysis and write advanced SQL queries to resolve defects across multiple teams.
- Collaborate with other development teams to manage interdependencies, set up test cases, debug, and maintain data quality.
- Lead and develop Informatica PowerCenter ETL complex flows connecting to heterogeneous databases such as Oracle and MS SQL Server.
- Develop complex Oracle procedures, functions, and packages to support database applications (API calls / DW reporting).
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience with SQL/PLSQL.
- 6+ years of experience with Informatica or other ETL tools.
- Understanding of Data Federations, Data Lake, Data Mesh, and advanced cloud concepts.
- Experience automating ETL with job scheduling tools, preferably Autosys.
- Experience working with large data sets using big data solutions such as Hadoop and Spark is a plus.
