About the position

The Sr. Demand and Supply Planner at Intuitive plays a crucial role in the SIOP planning process, leveraging statistical skills and manufacturing/supply chain experience to develop demand and supply plans that meet customer needs while maintaining inventory targets. This position involves collaboration with various teams to enhance forecasting accuracy and optimize supply chain operations, ultimately contributing to the company's mission of advancing minimally invasive care.

Responsibilities

  • Drive/participate in cross-functional team meetings/SIOP process to develop best in class demand plan and optimum supply plan
  • Facilitate and drive partnership with Marketing, Sales Operations, Finance team members to develop monthly/quarterly forecasts over mid-term and long-term
  • Partner with NPI/Engineering/Marketing teams to understand product lifecycle/buffer strategy, develop robust plans for new product launches and product end of life (EOL) planning
  • Review and improve statistical forecasting models to drive best-in-class demand forecast accuracy
  • Review data output, historical shipments/consumption for modifications based on product segmentation
  • Understand/manage safety stock/inventory targets for various regions/plants
  • Partner with manufacturing, planning, regulatory and facilities teams to drive buffer strategies
  • Develop capacity and material constrained build plan through cross-functional partnership
  • Scenario planning for different Demand and Supply scenarios, articulating options and impacts
  • Represent product families and present relevant data/charts in cross-functional SIOP meetings
  • Load plan to enable Manufacturing and Supply Chain execution
  • Monitor and report performance to plan, driving corrective actions/mitigation plans
  • Assist in planning activities such as Long Range Planning, Excess & Obsolete examination and reduction
  • Drive improvements to Key Performance Indicators such as Forecast accuracy, First Pass Fill Rate, Backorder, Finished Goods Inventory Attainment
  • Participate in key projects, testing and go-live, troubleshooting MPS/MRP issues
  • Improve processes and simplify/automate wherever possible
  • Assist in training others as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum MS/MBA with minimum 6+ years relevant experience; Degree in Engineering, Math/Finance, Operations Research, Supply Chain highly preferred
  • Minimum BS with minimum 8+ years relevant experience; Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Research, Finance, IE, Engineering highly preferred
  • Data-based rigor / Data/problem solving skills
  • Supply Chain/Planning Domain experience
  • Expertise with strategic planning of different phases of Product Life-cycle (New product introduction, End of Sale) systematically
  • Expert level in MS Office applications - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience creating data models and reports using advanced reporting tools like Tableau
  • Familiarity with Advanced Planning applications and/or ERP applications to create scalable processes
  • Leadership, communication and executive presentation skills to share insights/gain consensus
  • Basic knowledge of Medical device industry regulations and their impact on planning

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of SAP PP-DS planning module is preferred
