About the position

As a Senior Demand Planner at JPW Industries, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our supply chain operations. This position is designed for a strategic thinker who is passionate about demand planning and supply chain optimization. You will be responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts across our industrial, construction, and welding channels, ensuring that our operations align seamlessly with true customer demand signals. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining operational forecasts at multiple aggregation levels, taking into account historical sales trends, market dynamics, seasonality, promotions, and inventory levels. In this role, you will utilize your robust analytical skills to develop and refine statistical forecast models. You will analyze sales, margin, and historical data to ensure the accuracy of demand forecasts. As a leader, you will conduct monthly demand review meetings with various departments including Sales, Engineering, Channel, Product Management, and Finance. Your collaborative approach will help identify demand exceptions and implement best practices for root cause analysis and corrective actions. You will also be responsible for creating, maintaining, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning. Your insights and recommendations will drive continuous improvement within the organization. Additionally, you will support new product launches, product discontinuations, and promotional forecasting, presenting your data findings and recommendations during monthly demand meetings and as part of the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. Effective communication is key in this role, as you will ensure that forecasts are communicated clearly and timely to all stakeholders, highlighting variances, risks, and opportunities. You will maintain item history and collaborate with Sales and Channel teams to refine forecasting models and methodologies. Your participation in the SIOP process will contribute to the development and enhancement of demand planning strategies, and you will proactively identify and implement improvements to reporting, analysis, and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain operational forecasts at multiple aggregation levels considering historical sales trends, market dynamics, seasonality, promotions, and inventory levels.
  • Utilize robust analytical skills to develop and refine statistical forecast models and analyze sales, margin, and historical data for accuracy.
  • Lead monthly demand review meetings with Sales, Engineering, Channel, Product Management, and Finance to identify demand exceptions and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather and verify demand forecast drivers, ensuring forecasts are based on current, accurate data.
  • Create, maintain, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support new product launches, product discontinuations, and promotional forecasting, presenting data findings at monthly demand meetings and during the SIOP process.
  • Ensure forecasts are communicated clearly and timely to stakeholders, highlighting variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • Participate in the SIOP process, contributing to the development and enhancement of demand planning strategies and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales Management, Supply Chain or related field, required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Forecasting, Demand Planning, or SIOP.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manipulate large volumes of data.
  • Working knowledge of demand planning systems and advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Proficiency in MS Power BI and SQL is a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting methods, and understanding their financial and operational impacts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across functions, cultures, and levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • APICS, CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge or exposure to forecasting and forecast analysis techniques.
