About the position

The Senior Design Engineer at Dynamic Engineering is responsible for leading due diligence investigations and conducting design and engineering analyses for various retail, commercial, industrial, and residential site layouts. This role involves reviewing municipal regulations, preparing site plans, managing project budgets, and coordinating with clients and other consultants to ensure comprehensive site plan applications. The position emphasizes a collaborative work environment and offers opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property.
  • Prepare Site Investigation and Due Diligence Reports including the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations, and site visits.
  • Prepare Conceptual Site Plans and preliminary Grading Plans.
  • Design Stormwater Management and Stormwater Conveyance Systems, Utility Systems, and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Design Plans.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates and project proposals.
  • Manage project budgets and coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams.
  • Prepare technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer, and site investigation reports.
  • Prepare written correspondence to outside agencies, clients, and contractors.
  • Present to planning and zoning boards, municipal agencies, and project teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 3+ years' experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience).
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and knowledge of Truck and Turning & Modeling software.
  • In-depth knowledge of the planning and zoning process and Hydrologic and Hydraulic and Stormwater Design.
  • Proficient in design and drafting capabilities, grading and drainage design skills, and utility design experience including pump station and force mains.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.

  • Experience with construction support.
  • Proficient in the use of Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe for design document markups.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
