About the position

The Sr. Designer is responsible for executing large, multi-faceted design projects for assigned clients, focusing on innovative and on-trend creative solutions across various platforms including brand identity, packaging design, digital, and social media. This role requires managing a high volume of fast-paced projects while aligning with the strategic vision set by the Creative leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging design solutions for multi-faceted creative assignments.
  • Collaborate with creative colleagues to execute complex design projects on time.
  • Deliver compelling business and brand solutions that meet high standards of creative integrity.
  • Leverage client briefs to inform strategically sound solutions adhering to brand identities.
  • Craft compelling visuals and persuasive copy that drives brand engagement.
  • Generate innovative creative concepts and sketches in support of assigned projects.
  • Ensure consistency by applying brand identity and style guidelines across all design elements.
  • Manage the preparation and quality assurance of design presentations and organize design files.
  • Stay current with design practices, industry trends, and new technologies.
  • Support the Creative Director in forming a unified cross-functional team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, advertising, communications, or journalism plus 4 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of Gallo creative experience; OR High school diploma plus 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Original portfolio demonstrating a range of output and creative experience.
  • Ability to interface effectively with clients to arrive at sound creative solutions.
  • Expertise in design composition, typography, and executing sketches or designs.
  • Understanding of messaging, design, and production principles across all media forms.
  • Experience working as part of a multi-functional marketing communications team.
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 apps and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience in graphic design or related fields.
  • Experience with external agencies developing design solutions for global brands.
  • Skilled in designing retail structures and digital engagements for consumer audiences.
  • Design experience in spirits, beer, beverage, or lifestyle industries.
