About the position

The Sr. DevOps Administrator at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is responsible for the development, deployment, and maintenance of the CI/CD pipeline for application development teams within the Filing Solutions department. This role involves collaboration with Software Engineers and Solutions Architects to enhance the pipeline, ensuring it meets security requirements and facilitating application testing and implementation. The position is hybrid-remote, requiring residency within 100 miles of the Kansas City, MO office, and includes in-office work as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Writing, maintaining, documenting, and diagnosing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab using Python and Linux shell scripting.
• Utilizing tools such as Maven, NPM, SonarQube, Nexus IQ, Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes for pipeline management.
• Managing AWS infrastructure assets using TerraForm/Atlantis, including writing, executing, upgrading, and monitoring.
• Monitoring software and hardware assets within AWS and Oracle OCI clouds using DynaTrace, including setting up synthetic web transactions and reviewing logs.
• Participating in Release Management activities coordinated through JIRA Agile boards.
• Incorporating security scans into the software development, release, and monitoring workflows.
• Investigating database issues using SQL skills.
• Automating manual and repetitive activities while ensuring compliance with SOC1 and SOC2 controls.
• Interfacing with Systems teams to diagnose infrastructure and software issues and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an Associate's degree in Applied Science specific to Computer Science.
• Eight plus years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Proficiency in GitLab CI, Terraform for AWS, Helm, Kubernetes, Python, and Docker.
• Experience with AWS Infrastructure Resources and application monitoring tools like Dynatrace.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with message queues and servers, Tyk, and Okta.
