About the position

The Sr. DevOps Cloud Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the security and efficiency of the DevSecOps environment by implementing best practices and standards. This position requires a deep understanding of various tools and technologies that facilitate continuous integration and deployment, as well as a commitment to maintaining high standards of security and performance. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation playbooks that support continuous integration, testing, and deployment processes. This role also involves managing the Ansible automation platform and collaborating with the DevOps team to optimize automation workflows, minimize human intervention, and reduce errors in the deployment process. In addition to automation, the engineer will execute Change Management tasks across Production, UAT, and Development environments, ensuring that all changes are implemented smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with CI/CD practices and tools, including Jenkins, SonarQube, and Azure DevOps Services. Familiarity with Git workflows and branching strategies, such as GitOps and Git Flow, is essential for this role. The engineer will also be expected to have a solid background in scripting and automation, utilizing tools such as Shell, Bash, PowerShell, and Ansible to streamline processes and enhance productivity. The position requires a strong foundation in various programming languages and tools, including Bash, Python, Java, Git, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Kubernetes, Ansible, Artifactory, and Docker. Experience with infrastructure deployment using Terraform or similar tools is also necessary. The engineer will be expected to troubleshoot and run Java and Python applications effectively, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. This role is based in Quincy, MA, with a requirement of three days onsite work each week, and is structured as a C2C engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the security of the DevSecOps environment by implementing best practices and standards.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation playbooks to support continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Manage the Ansible automation platform and optimize automation workflow quality.
  • Execute Change Management tasks in Production, UAT, and Development environments.
  • Run and troubleshoot Java and Python applications effectively.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps or related fields.
  • 7+ years of experience with tools such as Bash, Python, Java, Git, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Kubernetes, Ansible, Artifactory, and Docker.
  • 5+ years of scripting and automation experience with Shell, Bash, PowerShell, and Ansible.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with CI/CD practices and tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, or Azure DevOps Services.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure deployment via Terraform or similar tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Git workflows and branching strategies (e.g., GitOps, Git Flow).
  • Knowledge of other Artifactory management tools like JFrog and Nexus.
