About the position

The Sr. DevOps Engineer SME position at Smart Synergies is focused on leveraging advanced DevOps practices and technologies to enhance system engineering processes. The role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure as code, continuous integration and deployment, and containerization, with a strong emphasis on security and compliance given the top-secret nature of the work.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Manage configuration management with Ansible and Puppet.
• Utilize AWS services for cloud infrastructure management.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Jenkins.
• Containerize applications using Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
• Write and maintain scripts in Bash and Python for automation tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies.

Requirements

• Expertise in Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet for infrastructure management.
• Strong experience with AWS services including S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, and SNS.
• Proficient in CI/CD tools such as GitHub and Jenkins.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CentOS and Rocky Linux operating systems.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python, particularly with Boto3.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
